A woman on a solo hike in Australia's Snowy Mountains was discovered 'dazed and injured' after being missing for nearly two weeks, reportedly due to a snake bite. Rescuers found the 48-year-old as she walked along a bush trail in Kosciuszko National Park. Authorities indicated she was 'fortunate to be alive,' suffering a suspected bite from a venomous snake, possibly a copperhead, four days prior. Her absence was noted when a rental vehicle was not returned, prompting a search operation. Efforts involved aerial and ground searches, leading to her discovery. The northern part of the park had recently reopened after seasonal closure and wildlife management activities. The area, a part of the expansive Great Dividing Range, attracts outdoor enthusiasts for hiking and skiing.
